OpokoResidents home activities and house designs are interconnected, as the designs of a home can significantly impact the comfort, functionality and efficiency of the activities that takes place within it. Against this backdrop, this study examined how housing environments impacts residents activities in Ibadan, the administrative capital of Oyo State in Southwestern Nigeria. The research investigated the socio-economic and housing characteristics of residents activities, interconnections and influential factors shaping these activities. This study drew samples from the entire population. The study area was delineated into planned and unplanned residential neighbourhoods for data collection using a multistage sampling method. Bad lighting design in reading areas can however affect the performance of library users. This study assessed the impact of daylight for improved user visual comfort in library reading spaces. The study identified various visual comfort parameters for daylight integration in reading spaces. It further examined the impact of lighting behavior on users level of comfort. In addition, how indoor light variation (at different locations) to enhance visual task and luminance was investigated. The study finally proposed a design a strategy in adopting daylight availability and adequacy in reading spaces. A.The process of designing a structure that prioritizes energy efficiency starts with understanding the right strategy and considering the regional climate and unique characteristics of the area in terms of ongoing development. In terms of ongoing development, the need for electricity in commercial buildings in Nigeria are urbanization. PHCN records reveal that at least that at least 10% of commercial buildings in Nigeria are classified as Maximum Demand (MD) customers, the buildings account for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions. Therefore, this study aims to examine the energy efficiency design strategy of commercial buildings in other to propose a sustainable business incubation centre in Ota, Ogun State. To establish the hypothesis made in this paper, an extensive literature review was conducted to understand the place of structure and identity broadly and in the design of a school of architecture particularly. Also, a case study of existing schools of architecture was conducted. The study was carried out using primary data sources, secondary data sources and graphic and photographic data sources. The sites visited an analyses as appropriate, case studies were also carried out via visits to similar institutions with outdoor sports centres. Users of outdoor sports centres were also interviewed. AdebakinThis research was done based on the phenomenon of the impact of architectural development using Alagomeji Yaba as a case study and also showing how diffreent material would help promote sustainably architecture. The outcome of the research revealed that there is significant relationship between architectural development and societal growth and disconnectedness. The study used a survey research design and a qualitative research design, using the purpose sampling.Questionnaire, as primary tool for data collection were randomly shared among the respondents. The data acquired were examined descriptively and presented in percentage frequency distribution tables, oppositely, the discovery of this study showed that architectural development contributes a lot to environmental/societal development, this research has also shown that urbanization is not the sole responsibility of architectural development as other factors can be considered. A. AlabiThe objective of this study is to evaluate how universal design strategies are implemented in specific educational structures in South-West Nigeria. The intention is to recommend the establishment of a College of Architecture and Design at Bells University Technology that incorporates Universal Design Principles. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the adherence to universal design principles in the planning and construction of chosen buildings, while examining the effects of such strategies on users, especially individuals with disabilities. The research will employ a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, utilizing literature review, surveys, and case studies to gather insights from students, faculty, and staff of the college. The primary focus will be on users of selected educational buildings in Southwest Nigeria, including the School of Environmental Studies at Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, the Department of Architecture at Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State, the Department of Architecture at the University of Lagos, and the Department of Architecture at Crescent University in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The study will involve a sample size of three hundred and eighty-five users, consisting of students, faculty, and staff. The study's findings will enhance the existing knowledge regarding universal design in the Nigerian context and provide recommendations for enhancing the design of educational buildings to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all users.
