    Though it is from the East that the sun rises, showing itself bold and bright without a veil, it burns and balazez with inward fire only when it escapes from the shackles of east and west.." - Muhammad IgbaI.The Mosque Masjid (from Arabic) is the most architecture.We can clearly identity that the unique form of the Mosque, is derived this essence is what has led to what we identity as the 'crisis'.The crisis is referring to the institutional/spatial organization and architecture of the Mosque.Nowadays we find a tendency for the Mosque to be an architectural symbol catering mostly for the religious rights of the Muslim world, rather than catering for the everyday Muslim way of life.The Mosque of a non-Muslim, needs to begin with understanding it s institution in built form and its meaning and purpose in a diverse and changing of this thesis is to investigate the possibility of designing an Islamic Centre that encourage the integration of Muslims and non-Muslims, in addition to provide a tangible solution to the Mosque 'crisis', which caters for the day to day activities of the the community.

The Mosque, Masjid (from Arabic) is the most important institution of the Muslim world, also the predominant built form of Islamic architecture. We can clearly identity that the unique form of the Mosque, is derived from the essence of Islam itself, purity, simplicity and humbleness. The breakage of this essence is what has led to what we identity the crisis. The crisis is referring to the institution/spatial organization and architecture of the Mosque. Nowadays we find a tendency for the Mosque to be an architectural symbol catering mostly for the religious rights of the Muslim world, rather than catering for the everyday Muslim way of life."

    Chronos Shopping Mall Epe; Lagos: The Impact Of Architectural Development On The Environment Of Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos

    This research was done based on the phenomenon of the impact of architectural development using Alagomeji Yaba as a case study and also showing how diffreent material would help promote sustainably architecture. The outcome of the research revealed that there is significant relationship between architectural development and societal growth and disconnectedness. The study used a survey research design and a qualitative research design, using the purpose sampling.Questionnaire, as primary tool for data collection were randomly shared among the respondents. The data acquired were examined descriptively and presented in percentage frequency distribution tables, oppositely, the discovery of this study showed that architectural development contributes a lot to environmental/societal development, this research has also shown that urbanization is not the sole responsibility of architectural development as other factors can be considered. However architectural development like a shopping mall would help promote security, networking and socialization.

    Community life is closely connected with an understanding of relaxation with the urge for another vitalizing influence, beside the job and the family - an influence capable of expanding man's narrow private existence. Community spaces play an important role in the success of a city and its inhabitants. They become the foundation to which those living and visiting in the area come together and communicate. No great civilization has existed which has not fulfilled man's irrepressible longing for institution where such broader life can develop. Catering to the human needs of a community - physical, psychological, whatever - is an important aspect that needs to be focused on in the country. If places are indeed a fundamental aspect of existence in the world, if they are source of security and identity for individuals and for groups of people, then it is important that the means of experiencing, creating, and maintaining significant places are not lost. It is common knowledge in most if not all Nigerian towns, no conscious and determined effort has been made in providing the citizens a civic facility capable of generating a belonging in them, the situation is not different in Oyo town. This thesis examines the need for a civic center as a control point and natural rendezvous for citizens and as the same time to revive the disappearing cultural identity and the weak connection between the culture and its people

    Cultural Centre Ota:An Architectural Exposition of Hybrid Cultures

    The thesis focuses on embracing the history and culture of the indigenous Ota people and uniting the growing population through the design of desirable spaces. The major research consideration for the project resides in creating an exposition of the Hybrid culture within the Ota region of Ogun State, Nigeria. The research was necessitated because of the ever-growing population: a lack of awareness amongst the growing population, of the newly evolving culture of the environment in which they reside. An analysis of the Ota Culture and its development forms the background for the research, starting with an identification of the general nature of the culture in Ota, Ogun state and narrowing down to the predominant culture of the larger group (Yoruba) that occupy the region. Identifying their elements, symbols and significant signs that form their culture in a bid to generate a suitable design. It is this new identify that the people of Ota would hopefully accept and identify with through the use of architecture. To celebrate this newly evolving cultural community, a cultural center is proposed.

    Development of Model Predictive Control Based Technique For Optimal Freequency Control in Hybrid Microgrid System

    The use of renewable energy technologies to improve energy security globally, providing power to remove locations and supplementing the grid supply has been a good step in the right direction. However, the implementation of these technologies engenders some problems which tend to reduces the consistency and this is essentially the variability of renewable source that cause technologies lead to variation in the quality of power in the grid as such these control strategies that are outlined in this paper will help to correct the fluctuations. The stochastic nature of renewable energy that are outlined in this paper will help to correct the fluctuations. Frequency stability is a critical requirement in power systems; in Microgrid (MG) systems where renewable energy technologies are prevalent frequency instability can be observed and this is a result of the fact that their supply is not consistent. Literatures on some control strategies which are utilized to mitigate fluctuations in the reliability of the renewable energy technologies namely: Model Predictive Control (MPC), Proportion Integral (PI) control, drop control etc. are discussed briefly.

Elderly care facilities often offer alternatively with skilled providing round the clock assistance and care when the senior citizens (elderly) are no longer able to live in their own family environment as daily activities require increasing help and healthcare are complex and therefore require proper care. This research was designed to evaluate how landscape architecture can effectively and gradually promote the well being senior citizen facilities and also to suggest a design that addresses the lack thereof.

    FMA Architecture Headquarters, Abuja: A Critical Study of Characteristics of Architects And Types Of Office Practice In Nigeria.

    This study critically examines the characteristics of architects and the type of office practices prevalent in Nigeria. The research was driven by the need to understand how the personal attributes of principal architects influence the nature of their practice and how these practices shape the country's architectural landscape. The study adopted a quantitative approach utilizing a structured questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The data collected focuses on variables like; the demographic characteristics of the architects, their professional background, years of experience, educational qualification, and approach to architectural practices. The questionnaires were distributed to architects across architectural firms in Abuja, Nigeria which revealed that most principal architects are over 45 years old, predominantly male, with mostly a master's degree.

    A housing estate is a group of houses and buildings built together to meet the social cultural and technical needs of the community. This study looks broadly at the housing challenges of informal settlements, the causes and provides practicable solutions for the Ugbomro Community. An informal settlement is a place where people reside without housing policies or regulations by governing bodies. The growth of informal settlements, slums is a global phenomenon and should be treated with a universal approach. Lack of land, urban migration are some causes of this.Growth of informal settlements is a common feature of cities of most countries.The purpose of this thesis is to propose a housing estate that will solve the problem for Ugbomro Community.

    Impact of Recreational Activities On Youth Development In Ogun State.

    Recreation is an activity that people voluntary pursue for personal enjoyment or satisfaction usually during their free time. It provides pleasure for millions of people amd contributes to individual mental and physical health. This study examined the impacts of recreational activities on youth development in Ogun State, Nigeria. Both primary and secondary data collected were collected.Primary data collection method included case study, observation and participatory interior secondary data collected are population of youth in Ogun State available parks and garden in Ogun State. The study revealed that participation in recreational activities could be linked to lower level of sedentary increase relationship with peer and friends improve the likehood of performing better in school and decreased participation in negative behaviours among youths

    Impact of Architectural Education On Sustainable Practice

    Extant studies exist in Nigeria and other parts of the world on architectural education and major problems plaguing it in relation to architectural practices. Some of the problems are influence of the environment on delivery of the curriculum, inability of graduates to fit properly into professional practice, possible extinction of architectural education because of reluctance to adopt to changing technology and technical training and 21st century challenges of the industry. These problems are threats to qualities of products of the present architectural; education system. It is therefore necessary to examine the present system with a view of reconciling it with demands of now and the future. Hence, this study examined architectural education to determine its influence on sustainable practice among architects in Nigeria. Objectives of the study were to determine the indicators of sustainable architectural practice in Nigeria, assess impact of curriculum, teaching methods, learning/understanding, and influence of architectural education.Mixed method approach was employed (quantitative and qualitative).

    Information Communication Technology Hub, free Trade Zone, Lekki-Lagos: A Study of Maintenance Strategies in Selected Public Buildings In Nigeria

    Building maintenance has been an issue within the built profession thereby leading to searches on the best and effective strategies that will be employed to elongate and preserve span of public facilities. Therefore, the research aimed at examining the maintenance strategies employed in selected public buildings in Lagos, Nigeria. Case study and questionnaire analysis were used together data on the strategies implemented in the selected areas for maintenance. The questionnaire was administered to both workers and quest of the public building. The findings from study showed that the major factors hindering maintenance of public buildings include management issues and financial constraints of which the most used types of maintenance strategy are corrective, preventive and emergency, whereas literature has it documented that the most effective maintenance strategy is the preventive measure. Conclusively, the maintenance in the study recommend that government and stakeholders should be adequately involved in the maintenance process of public buildings, this will help to make the building more efficient and produce optimum performance.

    In recent review, Nigeria major industrial supplies was put to be about 27% while capital goods, food and beverages, fuel and lubricants, transportation and equipment and parts and consumer goods takes a whooping sum.Most of these accounts for the levels of importations either from Asia: Europe: America or some part of African (Trading economy, 2019), this information gave the idea that Nigerians like to patronize foreign goods and for a country to grow there need to reduce importation to the barest minimum and also utilize locally sourced materials. It was found out that all of the variables examined, product quality was observed to be the major reason why Nigerian are averse to locally manufactured leather product in Nigeria.By extension.Nigerian are not inclined to purchase locally manufactured goods and also the limited number of standard factories in the country for the production of leather necessary products has made it a bit difficult to promote made-in-Nigeria goods. Therfore, there is need for local manufcaturer in Nigeria to brace up to face the challenges of globalisation which has brokers the barriers to trade by improving on the quality of their products and also the quality control agencies such as Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) are in conformity with the prescribed and acceptable standards.
