Christoline Film Academy, Shagamu, Ogun State: A Study of Lighting in Selected Film Institutes in Nigeria.

One of the most important quality of a good film is lighting. Lighting does not only make film shooting possible, it also enable screen projection of the same film. The absence of illumination in a photograph make the darkness a crucial expressive tool. Light has the power to evoke a broad variety of moods and emotional states, may dramatically alter how a shot feels. The study in itself seeks to examine the use of lighting in selected film schools, with a view to ascertain optimal lighting strategies in functional spaces. The method of gathering data and information is through literature review and case studies. The study examines the principles of lighting, it also evaluates the type of lighting strategies employed in selected film schools and also access the activities that goes on within a film school.
