Abstract
The process of designing a structure that prioritizes energy efficiency starts with understanding the right strategy and considering the regional climate and unique characteristics of the area in terms of ongoing development. In terms of ongoing development, the need for electricity in commercial buildings in Nigeria are urbanization. PHCN records reveal that at least that at least 10% of commercial buildings in Nigeria are classified as Maximum Demand (MD) customers, the buildings account for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions. Therefore, this study aims to examine the energy efficiency design strategy of commercial buildings in other to propose a sustainable business incubation centre in Ota, Ogun State. To accomplish these goals, the research employed a mixed-method technique to collect the date to investigate the energy efficiency design approaches employed in commercial building through investigate design strategies.
