Abstract
Tourism is travel for restriction, leisure, religious, family or business purpose, usually for a limited duration. Toursim helps to feel the void of curiosity and serve as a means of and understanding one another's culture as well as creating job opportunities. Tourism is becoming one of the fastest growing sectors in Nigeria. Many areas along the coast are exceptionally favourable to coastal tourism Nigeria..Many areas along the coast are exceptionally favourable to coastal tourism. Nigeria is a country with 700 km of coastline that is rich in natural resources dotted with small coastal settlement, which engage primarily in farming, fishing and trading. Badagry being one the coastal are in Lagos State. Nigeria is blessed with some of these natural resources which have been kept so that tourists can unearth the dark times of slavery.
As a result, this study aime to encourage tourism the cultural heritage of Badagry. This was achieved by an in-depth fieldwork, observations and case studies of existing tourist site which helped in understanding the functional requirements of a tourist centre.
