dc.description.abstractApplication of queuing theory to airport check-in problem is required to analyze the airport passenger flow process with respect to the service rendered to passengers during check-in process. This is necessary following the increasing demand for airport and airline services amidst limited facilities and dwindling number of trained personnel in most of the airports in the. This imbalance in demand and supply of facilities and services results in prolonged delays for all stakeholders (airports, airlines and passengers); which has the effect of impacting negatively negatively on ser vice performance, cost of operations, customers satisfaction, and overall throughput. Obviously, there is a cost attached to delay in any system irrespective of the cause of the delay. HENCE, this research is to model and simulation travelers' check -in process at the "D Wing of the Departure Hall of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, in year 2020. This research was carried out by determine the parameters of the queues at every services point in the check-in process, which were subjected to simulation runs, using Simpy simulation software, a framework based on standard Python. First, the check-in activities of the section were physically observed for five flights during which primary data were collected through direct observation.
