Abstract

This paper presents the design and construction of an automatic motion-tracking security light integrated with an embedded back up power control system. The security light system is engineered to enhance surveillance and security by automatically detecting and following movement within its range, ensuring that the illuminated area always focuses on the detected motion. The motion-tracking functionality is achieved through a combination of passive infrared (PIR) sensors and a micro controller-based control system, which drives the motorized light to track movement accurately. The system has an integrated back up power control system in addition to tracking capabilities to guarantee interrupted functioning during power outages. When necessary, the back up system is made to smoothly transition between the main power source and a rechargeable battery, guaranteeing that the security light will continue to work without the need for manual intervention.
