    Effects of material management on project performance in construction industry

    Construction companies engage in material management, and project performance is evaluated by looking at the quality of the product, how it is used, and how well it stays on schedule for a successful project. Inferential statistics design was adopted for the study using the survey research method and sample data to draw conclusions. The study population was targeted at construction industries using Lagos state as a case study. The data for this study was derived from primary and secondary source. The study sample size was determined using Yamane's formula with 268 respondents. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of material management on project performance in construction industry. To achieve the aim, the following objectives were proposed: to evaluate the extent to which material management effects the performance of construction companies" delivery success in study area; to examine the effect of materials transportation on project delivery success of construction companies in the study area; to investigate the effect of material storage on project delivery success of construction companies in the study area. Linear regression analysis was used to test the study hypotheses. The reliability test was conducted using the Cronbach statistics.
