    Leg-Out Shoe Factory: A Study of Modular Fashion Production Units for SMEs

    The process of shoe production is one that one is that is most fascinitating and involves a lot of little details if ignored could be catastrophic to the desired final look. This study looked at how shoes are made, from the point view of garment manufacturing. It entails the process breakdown of garment production ranging from raw material to the finished product. The aim of the research looked at evaluating the fashion production factories, with a view of optimizing spaces and functions for SMEs modular fashion production units. This study carried out research in Taeillo furniture, Enyimba Shoe company, Gredeyer shoe factory. Questionnaires were disturbed to the companies and the results of the first objective established that the spatial requirement of modular production units of selected modular factories are straight line or 'Synchro' production system, PBS Synchro strait-line system and unit production system (UPS) for garment production.
