The purpose of this research is to evaluate fire prevention and control procedures in a sample of public buildings across Nigeria. Users of a subset of public facilities in southwestern Nigeria's Ogun State were handed comprehensive questionnaires to achieve this end . The data analysis revealed that the bulk of the highlighted fire protection equipment is either not there, is inoperable, or is not being used by the building's tenants. Residents of the building were found to have received insufficient education about fire prevention, first aid, and egress protocols.
